Application And Case Study Of Welding Robots In Construction Machinery Industry

Using welding robot to gradually replace manual welding has become an inevitable trend in the development of the construction machinery industry. Welding robots are more and more involved in construction machinery like forklift, excavator, loaders, and parts like forklift tank, forklift frame, forklift shell, standardbucket, loader parts. That reason for this is because the configuration of welding robots continues to upgrade, welding robots have developed multiple functions such as contact sensing, arc tracking, and even laser tracking. Besides, the welding robot arm is longer and longer with the same high repeat positioning accuracy.

Let’s take a look at some cases of welding robots used in construction machinery manufacturing:

Forklift Frame Welding

1. Qianjiang qjr6-3 robot is used in this project. The robot has a load of 6kg, repetitive positioning accuracy of ± 0.05mm, arm span of 2001mm, and large working space. It is suitable for the welding of large and large products. It can be used with Panasonic, fornix, Lincoln, kemppi, Aotai, MEGMEET, and other mainstream welding machines, which can realize the welding of carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloy, and other materials.

2. The dual-axis U-shaped positioner and gun cleaning station used in the project are controlled by the robot control cabinet. During the welding process, the robot and positioner can move coordinately without the need for the positioner to be driven by the control cabinet, which saves space.

3. The displacement function of the positioner can make the position of welding seam that the robot can’t reach or is not conducive to welding. In the welding process, it can make the workpiece to be welded obtain the ideal welding position. The welding gun can weld with the best welding posture, which expands the welding range of the robot and ensures the welding quality and appearance requirements.

4. After the welding of each product, the torch cleaning station can automatically clean the welding slag of the welding gun, so as to protect the nozzle and conductive nozzle of the welding gun, prolong the service life of the welding gun, save the cost of consumables, maintain good welding quality and improve the welding efficiency.

●Forklift Shell Welding with Rail and Positioner●

The 6 axes QJRH4-1 robot is used in this project. The robot has a load of 4kg, repetitive positioning accuracy of ±0.03mm, and an arm span of 1410.5mm. It has stable and high-quality welding performance and can be used with Panasonic, fornix, Lincoln, Kemppi, Aotai, MEGMEET, and other mainstream welding machines, which can realize the welding of carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloy, and other materials.

The single-axis positioner and robot walking rail used in this project are controlled by the robot control cabinet. During the welding process, the robot and positioner can move coordinately, which saves a lot of space and improves efficiency.
